Look at LeBron's competition and look at Hakeem's competition. Start here and then work your way down.

Didn't u mention MVPs? What does a first round exit have to do with the fact that Bird, Magic, Jordan, DROB and Barkley were tough competition for MVP?

1988: look up his stats
1989: They lost 2 close games. He played well.
1990: He struggled. His fault but the Lakers had the LEAGUE MVP on that team.
1991: They lost to the league runner ups
1998 and after: him and his team had gotten too old
Any list that has Magic Johnson as a top 3 player is completely homeristic in nature and invalid. It would be like me placing Bird in the top 3 simply because I loved the guy. It's incorrect and that isn't an opinion.

And anybody with Kobe in their top 5 is simply a Lakers fan and nothing else. You can make an argument for maybe as high as 8th, but I saw bidness put him second behind Magic at 1st.

My reasoning for leaving LeBron out is that his resume is incomplete. We haven't seen his game transcend post-athletic peak and that's very important. Is he a top 10 GOAT or will he fall off like Worthy?

What he has already accomplished is probably top 10 worthy.
I don't think people really subtract from legacies in such a way for lead dog type players, like Bird's last crippled seasons, Magic's comeback, Jordan's Wizards tenure, or whatever.

Wilt was a statistical beast that lived in the shadow of the man I rate above him at #3. He appeared in 6 Finals and was the best offensive player in the NBA for at least 6 seasons.
Lebron has 4 MVPs (3 more than Kobe), has been the best player in the league for a longer period than Kobe ever was, has an equivalent # of lead dog titles, and better statistics. He is better at Kobe at almost every single aspect of the game other than raw scoring ability.....and he isn't far behind him in that.

I understand the big six being ahead of him (russell, jordan, KAJ, Wilt, Magic, Bird) but after that who do you have guaranteed ahead of him? I see spot 7 as being very interchangeable with 2-3 guys having a legit case for it (kobe included)
