Got caught up in a meeting during the extra time and was away from the internet. Now I gotta get caught up on the England trolling.

The road Croatia had to travel is insane. Three wins in the group stage, including a 3-0 ass-whooping of Argentina, and then gutted out 270 total minutes (plus two PKs) in the knockout round to make the final. I thought they'd have dead legs for this England match, but they took over the game from the second half onward. England is going to regret this one. They have a nice young core that will be around for a while, but there's no guarantee the bracket is going to open up for them again like it did this year.

Pretty much a meaningless third-place game, but Belgium outclassing England for the second time this tournament. Final-worthy team that ran into France once round earlier than they would have liked. On to tomorrow's final.

Wow, just looked at the golden boot standings and realized that if Mbappe or Griezmann don't put up a hat trick today, Harry Kane would win the award for basically stat-padding against Panama and Tunisia.

Should be a nice battle in the midfield between Pogba-Kante and Modric-Rakitic, but final prediction: France 2, Croatia 0. Got this game and the Wimbledon final on my screen at the same time.

Major tournament finals tend to be cautious and conservative, but this one had a hell of a lot going on. Valiant effort from Croatia after all the extra time minutes they played coming into this game, but France was too much. Even with the World Cup defending champions' curse in mind, this team is young enough to be a problem four years from now too.
