Look. We get it. You're old. So it's easier to try to justify being out of shape, especially when you compare yourself to other old people.
I am 46...210 is definitely a little heavier than I need to be, but, I have always been heavier than they typical guy at 5'10'

Look. We get it. You're a bit overweight... just as I wrote many posts ago. Why are you arguing time after time if you agree with me?
You sound a little bit jealous....

I thought he was 5'11.

His junior season baseball card lists him at 6, for scouting purposes, ill go with that. Either way, he's got a clearly defined clavicle.

I'm gonna let that 5'11" crack go. This time.

6'0". 175.

Back in the glory days... I was listed at anywhere from 5'10" for hoops to 6'2" for football. And yes, my clavicle is entirely remarkable.

Obesity LOL...I am going to chronicle the shit...I will get down to about 190 with little problem...maintaining it will be a different story though. I really need to be somewhere between 195-200...

You should consider the intermittent fasting I talked about a few days ago.

Type two diabetes is primarily a disease related to insulin sensitivity. Cells become resistant to accepting insulin and the pancreas must continue to produce more to process the same amount of food it used to process with considerably less. Eventually, the pancreas can't keep up.

Intermittent fasting helps restore insulin sensitivity. There are many other benefits I won't outline here, but that alone should be enough to make you consider it.

You are also probably more overweight than you suspect. You've lost 'some' muscle mass since your army days unless you lift weights regularly. It's just inevitable at your age. However, much fat can be intra muscular and embedded in muscle giving a false sense of security. You have less lean mass than when you were 180 and are now 30 pounds heavier.

Best wishes.

Any scary/questionable news about one's health can be scary. It sounds like you have things under control, though.

I don't think I need to go quite that hardcore just yet. I am aware that as I get older, things change. I can lose 20 pounds, but, as I said, keeping it off is another story. I am just at that crossroads now where what I eat really matters now.

I'm glad to see that Riley realized over the course of this thread that he's overweight.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step. He's off to a great start.
