The Heat are playing rope of dope with the rest of the league. I never make unsubstantiated assertions so here's my substantiation. The Heat are 4-1 against the teams they have played that have the best five records in the NBA, are 10-2 against teams with a winning record, are 12-2 against Western Conference teams, and a desultory 20-10 against sub .500 teams.

A coach can instruct, but the players have to listen. Jason Kidd was/is dealing with a bunch of old, often injured, egotistical players. Not as easy as one would think.

Even withOut Lopez I still see them as a team perfectly capable of knocking off the Heat (assuming Wade is less than 100%, which looks more and more to be the case).
