I think people hated the prequels so much that this seems great in compare. I didn't find Rey or Finn all that great, people we saying how good the acting was and I honestly thought it wasn't that good. It was a rip off of a New Hope with scenes borrowed from other movies. I don't get all the fandom for it, for Finn being a trooper he sure acts like a stereotypical shucking and jiving black man. Lots just didn't make sense to me, nobody brainwashed from birth is going to have a persona like his. It's a 7/10 for sure. The prequels at least introduced new enemies and ships, we got only X Wings, garbage TIE fights and the EVEN BIGGER Death Star, sounds like something Peter Griffin would come up with like his movie of "Bigger Jaws and Even Bigger Jaws".
It's pretty cringe worthy how they stereotype a black guy and have mary sue as a lead and everyone is like "BEST MOVIE EVAR", guess people loved the fact Finn ran away from action, stole clothes and other stuff, shucked and jived, spent 40% of his time trying to get his dick wet and acting like a tool. He was pretty much the embodiment or all black type casting rolled into one bad acting character, I mean look at him, he's a goofing looking guy with giant lips you'd only see from an old black character from a racist cartoon. Pro black indeed, haha.

Although mostly dumb I do think that TheLaugingMan's post touched on something accurate which is that there were a few very un-Star Warsian hip lines of dialogue in the movie, Whedon-esque even ("Droid please/You got a boyfriend, a cute boyfriend?").

Yea that shit made me face palm in the movie, I mean seriously it was bad. Why couldn't he just be a guy happy to escape the First Order? Why they have to play him like that? He came off as such a tool. The one thing Lucas got most right was the romance, it was low key and built up, Han was a cool cat, Finn comes off as a creeper douche.

Lucas was near retarded when it came to romance. Irvin Kershner was the one who made Han and Leia work and the Anakin-Padme 'romance' was one of the dumbest and most cringe worthy relationships ever.

The movie was created specifically to distance the franchise from the prequels and remind people of the vibe of the original trilogy. As a result, there were multiple references/similarities to the original movie. And that was by design. (Think of the "chess" match of hologram creatures that left off right where it did in A New Hope.) More importantly, it worked for the most part.
"Stick with us for the next billion dollar installment. It's gonna be like those nostalgic movies you love... not those crappy Jar Jar films."
And let's be honest, even the original movies are not necessarily "great films"... the acting is laughable for the most part. But they are entertaining movies that transcend age groups and demographics and have a bit of fun, whimsy and adventure to them making them legendary.
The movie moved the story forward and gave a pretty big wink to loyal Star Wars fans to have accomplished its goal.

I don't know guys, Anakin's "sand is rough/coarse" to "you are so smooth" transition has been a real panty-dropper for me, personally.
Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

Yea my bad, forgot Lucas had a ton of help on the OT, if he had the same help on the prequels man they would have been good.Kobeunderbite wrote:Lucas was near retarded when it came to romance. Finn's "You got a boyfriend?" line was the same level of wet drippy pantyness.Bush4Ever wrote:I don't know guys, Anakin's "sand is rough/coarse" to "you are so smooth" transition has been a real panty-dropper for me, personally.

Three creatures attacking a ship - that definitely happened. Sounds like you have a strong grasp of what went on in the film.

Wow, very descriptive. Nice save. That ship that they "attached themselves to" doesn't have any other name that people who know what they're talking about call it by, obviously. You sound like a huge Star Wars fan.Lone Granger wrote:Kobeunderbite wrote:Lone Granger wrote:

Indeed. Never mind the fact that she was less than half of his age when it was filmed. He is a creepy brownie.Robceltsfan wrote:elartman1973 wrote:They should have shown the chick body more and more flesh..I wanted to see her navel and her feet but they failed to deliver

LOL @ KUB thinking this flick was amazing. You have terrible taste in movies. Star Wars wasn't bad, but nowhere near as good as you said it was. What a tool you are.

Please, help me understand how women's feet are worthy of appreciation.

Re: Saw Star Wars - I'd give it between a 6.5 - 7 out of 10
I have a feeling that the more money Star Wars makes the more it will get the Avatar treatment. The small minority of people that didn't like it will feel they need to be louder and louder in social media and will make it seem like no one liked the movie. They'll all start spouting off on how it's just a copy of A New Hope and that the characters really sucked. Since they didn't like something that everyone else did, their insecurity will force them to go over the top with their hatred online and exaggerate how much they didn't like it.
