There was never any hatchet to bury buddy because I too have a dislike for his lazy defense although over the past few games, he's been putting in more of an effort... Imagine KAT winning ROY...and the 'Wolves trading him in the off season. Then imagine him going on to have a HOF career and leading an in-state rival to multiple WCF appearances.AbeVigodaLive wrote:rtiff68 wrote:Our mutual love for Draymond has brought us closer, Max.Max. wrote: Hold on... A mutual love for Curry has brought me closer to Abe.
A mutual love for Barnes has brought me closer to Wailua.
A mutual love for GSW's general style of play has brought me closer to Grizz.
I could extend this list forever. This team not only wins, they bring people together. Curry for Sainthood!
I just love torturing myself.
The 'Wolves passing on Curry twice for two guys that play the same position was very, very bad. The Warriors managing to lose Nelson AND Webber after Webber's ROY campaign (still not sure how they lost BOTH in a "him or me" scenario)...
...comparable, if not worse.

I've heard about him, but haven't had a chance to watch him yet. I'll record the game if I can't watch it-- I'm interested in checking him out.Max. wrote:Have you checked out Denzel Valentine yet(MSU guard)? He's kinda of Dray2.0. I know I've said this before, but I LOVED the Green pick. I thought he was the type of guy who would come off of the bench for a decade as a versatile, offensively oriented 3-4 tweener-- he reminded me of Boris Diaw in every way.Max. wrote:I don't think he'll be much of a pro, but I thought the same of Dray sortiff68 wrote:I've heard about him, but haven't had a chance to watch him yet. His offensive game is already about as good as I thought it could possibly be (and he seems to be still improving, which is scary), and his defensive game...I'm not sure that any aspect of any prospect's game has ever shocked me so much. I would have considered Draymond becoming an All-World NBA defender about as likely as Curry becoming a terrible shooter or Kenneth Faried becoming a terrible rebounder.
Unreal.

I don't see how it's worse from a pure "inept" decision standpoint. All signs pointed to drafting Curry. What made the Flynn decision even worse is that he was solely a pick-and-roll PG... so the Wolves drafted him and implemented the Triangle. WHAT? Rambis was as inept as Kahn during their time together. The worst of both worlds. One horrendous decision (at the time and even more so now)...
There were more moving parts in Golden State. Trading the #3 and 3 more draft picks for a rookie with an out clause after one season... and then forcing that guy to play a position he didn't want to play (right or wrong)... was a dangerous game to play. Actually, that was the impetus of everything wasn't it? Webber wanted out, so they traded him to get "something" for him. By the time Nelson was fired midway through the next season, the team was already heading to the abyss anyway.
Re: Kevin Love has returned to MVP ALL Star Form....Spells disaster for the league
We might just be arguing semantics here, but I would say that both scenarios were the result of poor/inept decision making-- something that defined both Cohan's tenure as owner and Khan's tenure as GM.AbeVigodaLive wrote:rtiff68 wrote:Imagine KAT winning ROY...and the 'Wolves trading him in the off season. What about the warriors trading Mitch Richmond for Billy Owens?

Not even the worst trade in franchise history: they once traded Robert Parrish and the pick that became Kevin McHale on draft day for the #1 overall pick: Joe Barry Carroll.elmouse03 wrote:What about the warriors trading Mitch Richmond for Billy Owens?
Thank God for the Lacob ownership group. Almost every move they've made has turned to gold.

Can't forget about Jrich for Brandon Wright. If you ranked the worst trades in Warriors history. What would they be?rtiff68 wrote:Not even the worst trade in franchise history: they once traded Robert Parrish and the pick that became Kevin McHale on draft day for the #1 overall pick: Joe Barry Carroll.elmouse03 wrote:What about the warriors trading Mitch Richmond for Billy Owens?

McHale/Parrish is easily #1-- they traded away a HOF front court in a single deal. JRich for Wright was obviously not good, but the extent to which it was bad might be overstated a bit. I loved JRich, but he was massively overpaid, and all of his best years were already behind him. You can't ignore the finances in a deal like that, as much as fans would like to.elmouse03 wrote:Can't forget about Jrich for Brandon Wright. If you ranked the worst trades in Warriors history. I'd probably put the Webber fiasco at #2 (it technically involved two trades, but I think it's fair to bundle them).
Most of the team's worst moves weren't trades, actually-- they were poor draft selections and awful contracts. I feel comfortable saying that no Front Office in the NBA performed worse in Free Agency than the Warriors during Cohan's tenure. The list of abominable contracts is mind-blowing.
