It's all subjective, which is what sparks great conversation/debate. I'm no fan of Wilt, as he was full of himself, but he's #3 on my list and probably will always be.
He's number 4 on my list and I can see an argument made for being higher

I can see the argument for Kareem being #3 over Wilt.

I have him at 9/10. I don't disagree that he was an athletic freak, but to me winning is a huge part of being considered in the all-time great conversation. Based on his physical gifts, Wilt should've won more than he did (especially considering his era) but he didn't.
<shrug>
That said, he's one of the "old guard" who I am 100% certain could play today and be one of the best players in the league, especially since there aren't any dominant bigs left, other than an ancient Timmy. But Duncan is better than Wilt, IMO.

In order i have

Jordan
Russell
Magic
KAJ
Bird
Duncan

all ahead of Wilt with the possibility of Lebron moving ahead of him as well.

No one beat Russell but Wilt. That says a lot about the Celtics and that era, not really about Wilt.

Like I say, everyone in the top 10 has holes and blunders in their playoff resume. It's just easy to find Wilt's because of his larger than life persona that garnered so much attention, good and bad, and that it only led to 2 rings.

Individual talent-wise, the only center that was more skilled was Hakeem. No one dominated on offensive levels like Wilt did. He's arguably one of the top 5 best talents to play.

Him only having 2 rings does not help his case though.
I agree on that. He should've taken care of business in '69 and '70. He's not solely at fault but u can't leave room for failure in those situations.

I believe the top 6 will end up being the normal top 6 that most people have on their list. All be it maybe not in the order that it is on here.

Basketball Jesus is Bird.

Larry Bird is also my vote.
Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

@fpliii

I meant to chat with u about realGM and their top 10-15 choices. Very interesting to see KG ranked that high.

Yeah, it is pretty interesting, but I think it comes down to weighting defense/longevity, and taking into account how much bigs can affect the game. This has forced Bird and Magic to fall IMO.

I don't have a GOAT list, but with a gun to my head:

1-2: Russell + MJ in some order
3-4: Wilt + KAJ in some order
5-8: Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, KG in some order

Probably a bit of an unorthodox top 8, but that's how I presently see it.

This place is as close to the good ESPN years as I have found since their closure.

Hoopla is good for College football. Terrible for basketball.

ISH can be good but my goodness is turned into a major troll fest over the past few months.

realgm was at it's peak the same time as ESPN message boards was before they went all "robust." Now they seem kind of meh.
