LOL. Talk about a strawman.
So you are gonna deny that players flopped in the past? Ok! (Thumbs up!)
If you re defining "flopping" just by the standard in which you see in the OP or from Bronze on the regular.....Then NO....players in the past didn't flop.
lol
But like sins, and rings....all flops aren't created equal...so yes there was 'some' flopping in the past.
I just Google MJ flopping. I found one highlight of him flopping. The one against Zeke. LeBron flops like a fish out of water. He is the best in the game. And the biggest flopping joke.

And that "one" is about as much of a flop as Byron Russell's flop on "The shot"...

That's because Jordan didn't play in today's ultra high-tech era in which his every move is tracked and documented on the internet (ala Lebron).
If Jordan played in today's era, there'd be more videos of his flopped. Luckily, he played in a less critical and tech savvy era.

I don't think Jordan was a flopper, but Pippen sure was. Just as 1 example, watch the Finals in '98, especially games 3 and 4. If you google "Kobe flop" you get tons of videos also. Harden and Griffin are 2 all-stars who flop just as much, if not more than, LeBron. Durant does that patented arm swing that gets him so many FTs. Tons of players flop, have flopped, and are still flopping, yet for some reason on this board, we only hear about LeBron's flopping, and it only comes from LeBron haters...hmm...

You Do realize they had TV in the 80's and 90's right?

yeah, but TV's back then didn't pick up on flops, and analyst were not invented yet...only the tech savvy inventions today can record flops...

You're such an excuse whore.

Key word: highlights. His every move of every single game isn't/wasn't tracked and analyzed (like Lebron).

Yes It has been done before but now it started to get out of hand especially when many foreign players started coming over.
The problem is Stern, who some on here swear by, said they were going to fine players because it has gotten out of hand. Lebron is on of the biggest floppers ever and yet never has been fined. What makes it worse is that he is not really good at it so it is easy to see, so sad.

You know they have digital copies of ALL those games right. You personally should go through them and nitpick Jordans game. It would really make me reconsider that LeBron is a flopper. Really.

Then how come there are so many videos of Jordan's dunks and spectacular plays?
Some studio in Orlando dedicated quite a lot of time remastering all those images. They haven't had time to go through all the flops yet. It's a massive undertaking.

Another strawman post. Have you seen me or anyone in this thread say LeBron is the first and only flopper, ever? No. Yes, Kobe has flopped a few times. However, the best player in the game does it on a nightly basis, despite being 255lbs. What a coward pussy he is for flopping that badly, and also you and betasonics for defending his flopping by presenting other players flopping. Try to stay on topic and make a coherent argument if you want anyone to take you serious.

If Jordan flopped in the 2nd quarter of game 46 of the regular season against a below .500 team in Feburary of 1991... we'd never know. And even if you did, it would be instantly forgotten. There's no GIF, no internet discussion, no lasting documentation of that play (unlike today's era).
Hence, Jordan benefited from playing in a less critical, less tech savvygeneration.

The NBA/Stern/refs have shown since 2003, that no matter what Lebron does, that he will be exempted from obvious calls. Whether it's traveling, off arm extensions, calling fouls on him, flopping, etc., it's obvious the word was put out not to call those things on him. So what you have is a player who feels like he is above the game and is allowed to make a joke of the league.
