It absolutely dumps on BK and McDs and the usual contenders.

It's essentially the Chick-fil-A of burgers in terms of level, standing, and tier.
Went to a Culver’s for the first time a few weeks back but I messed up and got a salad. My coworkers gave me shit for it lol. Next time I’ll get a burger.

ButterBurger w/ Cheese-Double

Triple is probably too much of a burger for a regular outing.

Being in CA I feel like I’m missing out on this Culver’s shit now. It does look like it has potential though.

Yes, the burger is actually fresh.

Their custard/shakes/mixers are very good also. Once in a blue moon, I'll pick up a pint.

I really do consider it the burger version of CFA. The customer service is about as good as it gets for fast food, the joint is always clean, and the food is at least a reasonable approximation to real food.

Read somewhere recently they were found to be the healthiest fast food burger because yes they use real ingredients and everything isn’t coated in chemicals.

They are also cheaper than McDonald’s now. When we eat burgers I usually use my blackstone but we really don’t go anywhere else anymore if we want to grab some quick burgers for dinner or don’t have time to cook.

That’s not the assignment. This is the Mt Rushmore of specific burgers themselves, not the establishment that carries them.

Perhaps it was just a bad day for the joint, but the first/only time I had an in-out burger I thought I was eating the bottom of a shoe... dry, tough, and not much flavor at all. I ate it in shock as the hype for the burger was sooo high. I thought, WTF... then I remembered I was in California (lol) not Chicago, which has the best food in the country IMO... with NY a close second.

But I digress...

As for the GOAT fast-fod burger it's easily Fuddruckers (assuming that's considered fast food of course).

I love how Chicago and New Yorkers are always trying to downgrade the West. Literally the bulk of your produce comes from California.
Do they have great food? Certainly. But California can’t be beat.

and no, Fuddruckers isn’t FF. Neither is 5 guys.

Cali has amazing Mexican food and of course in n out. Everything else I had when I was there for a week in 2022 was pretty mid TBH.

I did fail to have any seafood when I was out there so that was also provably my fault.

My experiences with CA food have been limited, but in general I remember the real restaurants being very good and IAO being good, but overrated to my taste (although excellent relative to the price of the burger, although the wait complicates that calculus to some degree).

California has a lot of problems obviously, but food isn't one of them. They have a huge natural advantage, but they make it work.

Never eaten at a Culver's. Sounds like I should next time I'm near one.

The truth is Cali is top of the charts when it comes to restaurants...

I have been in Florida for 3 months now, and there simply isnt any competition...To be fair, I am basing this off of 3 months here vs 30 years there, but I find it hard to believe that my opinion will change...Cuban food for sure here, but everything else California no doubt...

I thinkk In n Out is a little overrated, but two things are for sure...They NEVER have dry burgers, and your old ass has never eaten there with that stupid, biased opinion...

Also, if I remember correctly, when you were in California, you were in the Temecula area...There are a few decent places there, but very low on the totem pole as far as California goes...
