No problem, we can go to the next level:

I calculated the relative difference between Brady's QB playoff rating and the AVERAGE QB rating within-year.

These are the results. The unweighted average was a little bit more than a single percentage point better than the league average. With the caveat that this is against playoff defenses that are likely to be better than average defenses...holy shit LMAO...can you tell me ONE legend of a sport (let alone a GOAT) that is only a percentage point and change better (in relative difference, not straight across) than average at a solid catch-all statistic?

That would be like claiming the basketball GOAT is a guy who averages like 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists a game or something like that :laugh4:

Unpopular opinion, and last season does not help, but people are sleeping on Russell Wilson.
The lack of rings/MVPs is glaring, and many teammates hate him, but he has been consistently great for a long time.

Not my top 5, but he belongs in the discussion.

Yes, comparing one person’s playoff numbers in the worst weather conditions possible for football to every QB in the league for the full season is certainly “logical thinking”

Congrats on reaching peak autism levels though

Top 5 - 7 of 20 years.
Top 10 - 17 of 20 years.

Just for added context to the discussion.

How many superbowls would any number of the greats have with that many stacked defenses?
Defense can feed directly off of the offense.

Over 21 seasons for Brady, his average Time of Possession per possession is 2:41 with an average yardage gained per possession of 32.5 yards.
For contrast, Eli over 15 seasons had averages of 2:32 and 29.4 yards.

Eli's peaks for any season were 3:00 and 32.3 yards.
Brady's peaks were 3:07 and 39.3 yards.

Those differences are not small over that many years of data.....and leads to easier roads for a team's defense.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

He played 48 playoff games over his career (a number of which were road games, btw so the weather excuse is a straight lie, but you know that). That's more than an adequate sample size.

You can track year-over-year as well as career:

Above-Average: 11 years
Below-Average: 9 years
Missing Playoffs: 3 years

In discrete year chunks, he was MORE likely to be below-average or miss the playoffs entirely than be above-average (although yes, against playoff defenses, not average defenses, to be fair, like I said earlier).

Can you show me Michael Jordan averaging less than the league scoring average during half of his career against playoff defenses? Or Babe Ruth hitting OPS of .700-.800 (he actually hit 1.21 in the playoffs) during half of his career in the playoffs against playoff pitching?

Thanks for the non-serious response you'll give.

Now we've argued the Brady Bots down to "below-average is actually GOAT-tier because only Brady plays in rain/snow and only Brady has had the misfortune of playing every road playoff game in the snow, and in 2008 the weather switched to sunny clear every game for his backup to go 11-5" and "Brady was the main driver of team defenses".

Yikes. lol

Here’s a good apples to apples comparison

Playoff Stats in the same dome at the exact same time

Brady - 92.9 rating
Brees - 38.1 rating

Brady - +243%

Buh buh buh muh defense

Oh lookie, Saints had the higher ranked defense, both overall and pass D

If only Brees had the a top D that year, he would have had a 2nd ring.

Whoopsie

Remember that time a woman who was a 6.5 became the world's greatest supermodel?

Remember that time everyone stared in awe at the bench presser who benched 1.25x his body weight?

The time gold-digging women targeted a man with a 65K a year job?
