Isn’t that a little too on the nose as far as nicknames go?

:noidea:
You just know back in the ‘80s everybody thought that this was some kinda epic GOAT-tier nickname.

It was a simpler time.

Knowing Larry, he probably gave himself that nickname.

Bird translates well to this era. 6’9”, great shooter, ball-handler, passer, extremely skilled, and can score from anywhere. Very modern player.

If he could bring his dirt-poor redneck toughness with him, he’d be even better. If he were raised in the modern era as some faggot millennial, he might end up like Kevin Love.

The player who would be just another player is Jordan. Basically a rich man’s Wiggins.

I'd argue that his game translates better for this era. He'd be a triple-double machine and a much more deadly scorer with all the emphasis behind the arc.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

A young Bird would actually fit decently into modern defenses also.

The middish/mid-late version of Bird would be in serious trouble, however.

Then again, even Larry Bird is probably not doing that level of manual labor in 2020. So maybe a moot point.
