I don't really use credit cards. In fact, I'm a bit of a dinosaur in that I use cash A LOT more than anybody else I know.
This surprises me. I virtually never use cash anymore for anything. It has to be a peculiar circumstance.

For all recurring bills, I have them put on one of my credit cards which is then automatically paid (set up with my bank) the day it is due. I never pay interest to anybody for anything. I do the same in the US for my regular Arizona bills with my US bank. The points/cash back whatever might as well go to me. Don't turn down free money.

Poor Carl. Banks have him down to just over an $800 credit limit.

Is it because the coronavirus got you laid off?

Yeah, it's definitely not normal. But I have my reasons for using cash. Turning down free money is not among them.

Probably but it's definitely not as good of weed as what Arty buys with cash.

We recently started using a Costco credit card and have been using that for nearly every purchase. They give straight cash back so we end up getting a pretty big check at the end of the year which turns into pure fun money.

What do Kingcarl24 and the family do with "pure fun money"?

My Costco Rebate was $697 last year.

Last Sunday my Costco bill was $703. Oops.

I don't really use credit cards for too many big purchases, but I had it raised from 11k to 16k last year for wedding expenses. Didn't get to the 16k, but it's all paid off now. Like Karl my score is over 800 again after dipping to 750 last year.

I'm pretty sure we've discussed credit scores here before...

Last time I checked, I was right around 800. But the Gal Pal was slightly higher. Why? I make more money. I have more things in my name. I have more credit, hence, more positive credit history. I'm even older, so I've had good credit for longer.

She gets the higher score? Is it simply because she's a chick and has nice cans?

Back 06' my wife, my 3 kids and I took a cruise to the Bahamas...we got a huge room, balcony, all of it...plus, we spent a couple more weeks in Florida to boot...That trip ended up costing us about 12G's all together, all on the credit card...we paid it all off within a year...
Otherwise, I don't carry any credit card debt...Outside of my mortgage, I am 100% debt free, and it feels great...

I don't think "nice cans" is in the credit score algorithms.

Vacations. Last year we used a large portion of the cash back in San Diego taking the kids to the zoo and Sea World.

We're close to that again. But the wedding last year cost a lot and it's tough with the wife being laid off past 6 weeks - but we're still making progress.
