I'm going to laugh when parish gets picked above Paul, Howard, and Walton

Paul is in already.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Yeah CP seems to have this one, to me he did move up the list a little bit after beating the Spurs last year.

Ah, I didn't count the votes (or even check) for this round, I'm just enjoying the reading the argumentsRobceltsfan wrote:wailuaFC wrote:I'm going to laugh when parish gets picked above Paul, Howard, and Walton

How you holding up by the way?
Re: 2015 Anger General Greatest post-merger Players of All Time #29
If you weigh peak super highly, Walton should be in already.
If not, I actually don't think Parish > Walton is absurd at all.

Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

If we weight peak so highly wouldn't our list change quite a bit?Bush4Ever wrote:If you weigh peak super highly, Walton should be in already.

I don't weigh absolute peak super-highly. But some seem to.

I can see where your peak years help but if the majority of your career is so so i feel that hurts your argument more than anything. If Jordan won 6 titles and was average at best for 7-8 years I'd drop him down that list a ways.Bush4Ever wrote:Yes.King Deez wrote:

Gasol is a very good player but he's not quite there yet. Parish was a really good defensive player, great rebounder and highly efficient scorer.Odogg wrote:Gasol, who should clearly be on there if Parish is, if not sooner.y2ktors wrote:Voting for this round closes at 11 am CST. As he should. Because you'd be comparing Jordan vs. the very best all time.
At this point, we're about to start comparing Walton vs. the very best 3rd fiddles of all time. Longevity and sustained goodness might win out and I have no problem with it... but it's definitely worth at least some discussion at this point if you're like most and believe Walton was truly THE dominating force in a league and a championship team.

Not too bad, I baked his parents some cookies last night so will be heading over there soon. Its actually really nice to escape onto here for a bit, we only had 4 employees working here on Kauai so i really felt it yesterday at work before distracting myself on here. Thanks for checking upAbeVigodaLive wrote:wailuaFC wrote:Ah, I didn't count the votes (or even check) for this round, I'm just enjoying the reading the argumentsRobceltsfan wrote:

I knew Abe had a crush/love affair with Isiah Thomas and Russell Westbrook. Didn't know it extended to Bill Walton too.

Yet Parish made zero all defensive teams and averaged less rebounds per game than Gasol.y2ktors wrote:Gasol is a very good player but he's not quite there yet. Meanwhile, Gasol was the clear #2 guy on two title teams (#1 acc to some posters), not sure Parish was ever the #2 guy on the Celtics title teams, have to check on 81. Gasol's stats in both regular season and playoffs are clearly superior as well. And prime Gasol was no slouch on defense.

Indeed. Imagine how much I'd love the guy if I ever actually voted for him...

You don't need to justify it. Like I said, it's cool.AbeVigodaLive wrote:

I don't subscribe to the thinking that playing longer makes you a better basketball player. Eye tests and advanced stats confirm that Walton was superior to parish in just about every single way, and that's including all of his injured broken down years. Walton at his peak was a top 5 player and that's doing a bit of disservve almost, parish never came anywhere near that kind of impact.Bush4Ever wrote:If you weigh peak super highly, Walton should be in already.
If not, I actually don't think Parish > Walton is absurd at all.
