I love this fine line TDK has to now walk. Can't hype Pippen up too much or it diminishes what MJ did. Can't be too slack then or Kobe is seen as a better player.

Their raw offensive numbers may be comparable, but to say they had similar effects on the court is ridiculous
I'm responding to rob'fakecelts'fan's drivel... and FTR those Bulls were so good Defensively because of Pippen. Period, end of story (evidenced by the fact that the 95 Bulls were just as good Defensively, and Grant wasn't on the team).

That's a fact.

Why do you idiots insist on undermining the Value / Impact of Pippen's Defense?

Tell me, who was responsible for the Bulls' #2 Defensive rating in 95?

Grant? Nope... no longer on the team. Jordan? Nope... he only played 17 games that year. Kukoc...? Kerr...? BJ...? Luc freakin' Longley...????

Wrong-Wrong-Wrong... the answer is Scottie Maurice Pippen.

Period. End of story.

:noidea:

Pippen is Top 20-25 all-time, and one of the 10 best all-around players ever in my book... I've always said that, and that in no way, shape or form diminishes Jordan.

You're absolutely right, grant made the all star team because he was a very good offensive player and pippen is probably the goat perimeter defender, capable of single handily leading a team to the #2 defense in the league. It's too bad Jordan had to be there to ruin their defense year after year, they probably would have been better trading Jordan for a serviceable center and keeping grant for all those awesome offensive outbursts, now that'd be a dynasty!

No, he's given pretty much EXACTLY the amount of credit he deserved, as evidenced by his lack of success without MJ or PJax.
Stupid logic... coming from you that's not surprising. Case in point: What did MJ accomplish withOut Pippen and Jackson?

Sooooo... how did the 95 Bulls finish #2 in Defense withOut Grant and, for the most part, withOut MJ?

Kukoc was a below-average defender... as was Kerr. BJ was average. Wil Perdue (lol)... Bill Wennington and Pete Myers...??

Come on...

"My" logic...????

Again... you are the one who initiated this exchange by pointing to Pippen's "all star" teammates, and diminishing the help Kobe had around him.

I provided facts that show 05 Odom, Atkins and Butler were just as good as 94 "all stars" BJ and Grant.

Walk it off...

"Stats" don't equal "as good" unless you're going to agree that Nique was as good as Jordan. Somebody has to score points doofus.

It's funny how you denounce stats and advanced metrics when it fits your agenda..........and then espouse the very same stats and advanced metrics when it fits your agenda.

You are the worst troll here.....as usual.

Pippen was, far and away, THE reason the 94 and 95 Bulls were so good Defensively. Kobe, on the other hand, is THE most over-rated Defender in NBA history.

You still have no point.
