Yes, and was first 4 times, and second 1 time.

What's your point?

point is i don't feel that few of games should warrant him in the discussion quite yet. 46 games a season is what he averaged.

I nominate Derrick Rose.

Remember, he has an MVP. Something many of these players being mentioned, do NOT have. So.............

I think I'm feeling Kidd over Durant.

Love Durant, I just think active players should have at least ten years before being considered here, if not there better be a good fucking case. Kidd has more finals as a lead dog and has a ring (albeit as a role player). I don't consider the MVP thing a big swayer either, Durant mainly got his MVP cuz they were tired of giving it to LBJ every year, Kidd could have gotten MVP in 2002. I'm open to hearing thoughts on this.

No, Kd got MVP because he was by far the best and most valuable player that year.

So, you're giving Kidd MORE credit for winning 52 games and beating a Celtics team in the ECF that had Antoine Walker shooting 22 times per game? Kenny Anderson, Tony Battie and Erik Williams also started on that Celtics team. Or, the next season when the Nets won 49 games and only had to beat one team with 50 wins (exactly 50 wins) to make the Finals.

But just because he made it to the Finals... that's more impressive than Durant losing the WCF to the eventual champs? Or winning 70% of his games over 4 seasons...?

Gervin > Durant.

Durant doesn't have enough of a resume yet to overtake him.

Gervin's best scoring season >> Durant's

And don't bring up playoff success when Gervin had less talent than Durant plus was 1 game away from reaching the Finals and also back then they played only 3 rounds in the playoffs compared to 4.

If we're gonna bring up Durant, what's so funny about nominating D-Rose?

Both have one MVP (D-Rose is the Youngest though in history)

Ok Durant has a scoring title, but how many PG's in history led the league in scoring? that's not their game. You'll also bring up his missing a couple seasons due to injury, but Durant also missed a large part of last year.

You can also argue D-Rose is more dangerous at the apex of his game then Durant, due to his explosive driving ability plus his ability to catch fire and hit clutch shots from the perimeter.

Durant completely shits on Gervin peak to peak.

It's not close.

You don't gain credibility as a fan (except by idiots and geezers) for automatically propping up the old school guy (at least the ones who played from 1984 to 1993, since you know...that's when the HEROES AND WARRIORS PLAYED GRRRRRRR) at the expense of a more modern player.

Be specific.

What *specifically* is Durant lacking that Gervin possessed?

longevity, ultra-elite scoring ability (Gervin's best season saw him average 33, better then Durant's), Patented move (finger roll)

Gervin made the playoffs 9 out of 10 years.

Durant has made it 5 out of 8.

Good times.

1 full point over a season is bigger than it seems, also note both's Career highs and you'll find Gervin's is higher.
