Is it officially a basketball town now?

The Cleveland Indians are in 1st place. Yet few seem to care. They are 28th in attendance. They recently completed a 3-game series without getting 12,000 people to watch any of the games. 34,000 for a 3-game series?

I know Tampa Bay and Miami struggle with attendance even in good seasons. Is Cleveland more like Florida than anybody here realized?



[Note: I'd think even a team located in Orlando could draw 35k fans for a 3-game series if the team was in first place. Maybe.]

To be fair, I think there's a decent percentage of people who go to games who don't really watch the games. They're not even going to the games in Cleveland.

Well we know they aren't out playing on any of the natural lakes in the area.

I loved to play growing up but have little to no desire to go to games or watch on TV.

And the past two times the Indians were in 1st place... they also failed to draw. One of those seasons came when basketball and football teams sucked.
