Not that it would happen, but I think Rose is not tradable to a contending team. I think the Nets or Sixers would certainly trade for him but wouldn't be willing to give up what the Bulls would expect in return.

Semantics here, but that was pretty much what I was alluding to with "essentially" not tradable. Presumably, the Bulls actually want an asset in return. They can't get a real asset. But if I were the Bulls, I would probably do that deal for Joe Johnson in a heartbeat, assuming this is the last year of Joe's deal. I'm not going to bother to check.

I have a hard time believing there is any team in the NBA that would have interest in acquiring him for more than pennies, and even in that instance he'd be treated like a lottery ticket that has a 1 in 100 chance of regaining some of his old form, not unlike the Pacers signing Andrew Bynum.

Back to the mentally damaged aspect, there are the mind bogglingly stupid comments he makes on a regular basis, and then there are glimpses we catch in his on court behavior, like this one,



...that show us that we aren't talking about a guy who is 'all there'.
