To answer your question (and not just be an asshole, like Underoos), you are correct. The original Hornets were in Charlotte, then moved to New Orleans and later renamed the Pelicans in 2014. The Charlotte Bobcats were then renamed the Hornets in 2015.

As far as Dell Curry goes, he played in Charlotte and never played in New Orleans, so I get why Charlotte would want to retire his jersey and why New Orleans wouldn't care.

I understand what you're saying, but the city you play in matters more than the franchise.
