I'm probably the only one in this situation, but I'm really looking forward to the grandfather gig. My kids still all have other fish to fry so it will likely be a while but being a grandparent has to be one of the greatest gigs ever. Spoil them without regards to consequences (within reason and in a harmless way that the parents won't object - too much )

Always the hero and never the bad guy. Yup. I want that gig.

It's a tough gig. I have no doubt I would be a lot better at it now than I was the first go around.

Overall, I tend to think people really overrate experience. I think parenting might be the one glaring exception.
