Some shots from the game last night...

Post by rtiff68 »

Did a courtside shoot-around before the game (seats were Row 16, 10 yard line-ish). It was really weird to do it as a fan on the road (did them almost every game while I worked for GSW). The crowd completely lost their minds when Curry came out to warm-up-- it shocked me. It was the type of thing that used to happen at Oracle when guys like Kobe and LeBron came out of the tunnel.

Did you get any pics of Horny? One of my all time favorite players.

That's awesome man. You got to enjoy a dominant GS performance.

I actually didn't-- I wish that I did. Not only was he an excellent player, but thus far he has the appearance of being a very underrated coach.

I did snap a shot of Larry Fitzgerald sitting courtside from my seats at half time, though (it's a phone camera from distance, but you can zoom in).

I was glad it was a stress free game-- it helped me be quiet (my buddy works for the Suns now).

Not sure. I only sat there pre-game-- we used to do that for clients all of the time at GSW.

I can tell you that Warriors floor seats when we sucked were 41K apiece for the season and $1,500.00 per game (right before the dynamic pricing model).

Thanks, bud. I wish I'd snapped more.

It was my first live NBA game in a while-- I'm glad my team came out on top.

I've been entertaining this thought, that the one team who the Warriors need to fear is the Spurs. On paper it makes sense; Spurs have the sort of wing defenders that can give GSW trouble, they have similar depth, championship pedigree, etc. But the more I see the Warriors play, the more my confidence wanes. They are a freaking freight train.

Cool. Your team is smoking right now.

I haven't been to any NBA games in a long time. The only 2 venues that I have been to are the old Amway Arena and old Charlotte Coliseum. I've see a bunch of games in both places.

The Spurs are the toughest match-up in the league for the Warriors, in my opinion.

One of the best ways to attack GS is to go at them with two bigs that create their own shot inside. The Spurs are the only team in the NBA to have that AND quality depth on the perimeter.

It all depends on the health of Parker-- if he's healthy and playing at a high level come playoff time, a Spurs/Warriors series would be epic. If he's last year's version, the Spurs would give them a scare but ultimately go down in 6 (sort of like what happened when SA played GS in the 2nd round a few years ago, only with GSW coming out on top this time).

Nice. I haven't been to that many basketball arenas, actually.

Oracle a few hundred times (obviously), Sleep Train Arena (Kings...shit hole, the worst in the NBA), Staples (unreal venue, weak crowd), and Talking Stick (PHO...3 times. Old arena like Oracle, but in a fantastic location-- the opposite of Oracle).

You're right, the Spurs are a totally different team when Parker is healthy. He's been looking like the old Parker of late; I hope he can keep it up.
Still, right now GSW are clearly the best team in the league, by a fair margin. But I look forward to the match up.
