Why is the concept of God so hard to believe?

Talk about anything here.

And I'm saddened that you read the Bible with such a closed mind. Perhaps you read it with preconceived notions? It's fiction. Not real. That would dampen your experience.

You don't NEED the Bible to be saved. You need to believe in Jesus and accept what Him dying on the cross means for you, though.
I read the Bible in my teenage years...as a believer. My parents both believe in God. My Father died believing in God. I made my own mind up over the years. The stories/scriptures/timeline/dogma........is just too unbelievable to me. There is no closed mind here. I give everything a fair shake, but I can't place my faith in that book. It simply doesn't make sense and the only thing that would possibly lead me back to it is the FEAR that I'll be punished if I don't.

FEAR is no reason to believe in an all-loving deity.
Ok. You can't believe in a Book. What about a Creator? Surely you are intelligent enough to know that there was some sort of Intelligent Design behind everything we see....I mean right? You have to. What person wouldn't?
Intelligent Design is neither intelligent, nor design. It is a fantasy theory without empirical evidence.

I still can't grasp the concept of where God came from.

Madnessssss wrote:Clevetown, how about you open your mind and consider the points the atheists/agnostics in this thread have made? God gave you the ability to use reason and logic. If you use it, you'll discover there is no God. Your ability to use reason and logic is actually an evolutionary trait that humans used to survive and eventually dominate this planet.
when you can show me something appearing out of thin air, that was not created yet was made, i'll consider it. Until then, why don't you AGREE with the science that you love to use in your arguments against God and see that SCIENCE tells you you nothing can be created from nothing.

As has already been shown to you, again and again, the quantum mathematics demonstrate that something from nothing is quite possible.

I suggest you look into a 19th century book titled "Flatland"
It imagines a two dimensional world coming to grips with third dimension phenomenon.

you have it backwards.

the onus is on you to prove the existence of your god. one shred of evidence would be enough.
Not that the evidence is not there, because it is, but the Bible requires that you have faith in Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross if you have ever chance of getting to heaven and seeing his face.

That's it! It's a free gift! And yet many still refuse it. They would rather live the way they want and Die in their own sin. Well I have a good news in Jesus Christ. And that's that he died in your place if only you would believe.
yeah.... well if proof ever surfaces then we can talk. until then, you are a willing participant in a mass delusion.

No, on the contrary, YOU are the one who is under a strong delusion. And you will pay for with your SOUL.

when you die your body decomposes. But your soul, the real YOU, leaves your body. It is mentioned all throughout the Holy Bible. Every Word in the Holy Bible is TRUE. Can you tell me one lie? I can tell you tons of prophesies that have came true, but even that isn't enough to persuade you that the Bible is pure truth. So sad how deluded you are.
