Melo to join Bulls as a FA...?
He likes Thibs... and we all know Thibs can turn a tree stump into a solid defender and team player:
Rose-Melo-Noah-Butler-Gibson-Mirotic-Snell
That's a Dynasty core for sure, assuming they stay healthy.
It could happen folks.

It's pretty well known that Thibs is also very fond of Melo......hard as it might be for some to believe.
Hopefully Gar "phonyfuckstick" Forman hasn't soured Thibs to the point of no return.

I think we've seen the last of him on the court.Cobra Kai wrote:Would Rose be willing to accept the role of Robin?
I guess at this point, he would just be happy to stay on the court for a feasible amount of time.

Rose has always been a Robin(shot wise)..... FORCED into a Batman role due to a lack of other offensive options.

Wouldn't Anthony be expected to play defense?

when was the last time you saw Melo play defense? The 2 coaches he had before Woodson aren't defensive coaches. Karl teams haven't played defense since he had GP cutting off the head.RodneyStuckey3 wrote:Wouldn't Anthony be expected to play defense?
And Mike noD'Antoni doesn't even care about the defensive side of the ball, ask Amare.
This is tired. KD catches no flack for his defense and he plays with really good and great defenders around him, hmmmmm.

I see Melo staying in NY. He's married to a tv chick. I'm guessing that chick wants to stay in NY....or go to LA.

LOL
OP is still in the Hall of Shame for reporting the board. Has yet to apologize for his meltdown.

Oh, so you are using the Stoudemire defense? Anthony was "never taught" defense either? GTFO,

However, it led us to our own place and no fear of shutdown.
We're owed that much.

While he will never be no "great shakes" defensively....I think his problems have been overblown and magnified by the systems in which he's played. I'd like to see Melo on a team that played to his strengths and helped cover up his weaknesses for a change.RodneyStuckey3 wrote:Might be a deal breaker.Jordan420Bulls wrote:yes he would.RodneyStuckey3 wrote:Wouldn't Anthony be expected to play defense?

This is an excellent point... and an undisputed fact.
For his career Rose averages just 17 FGA per game; that's 3 fewer shots per game (for the guy many uneducated fans call a chucker) than Lebron averages for his career... and James is considered the ultimate team player.
That being said, the Bulls already lost Deng and will amnesty Boozer after the season. That's 25+ shots a game to be made up, so ball distribution won't be an issue even if Melo and Rose both average 18-20 FGA a game.

Another GREAT point... and let's face it... if Thibs can get guys like Korver, Watson, Marco and Boozer to play decent defense, he can do the same with Melo.

No you gtfo Mike noD is known for not even discussing defense. 7 secs or less, whatever his b$ is leads to many easy scores for the other team. Where have you been on MIke noD?RodneyStuckey3 wrote:Smelters wrote:when was the last time you saw Melo play defense? The 2 coaches he had before Woodson aren't defensive coaches. Woodson takes over the Knicks and Carmelo starts playing a lot better defense and is way more engaged.
How many times have you watched Carmelo play in the last 2 years? How many times has someone just went off on him? Durant is probably a worse defender but is backed by great defense all around him.
Thibs and daBulls have that like the Pistons in 2003 to surround Carmelo.

What's up man, you feeling confident about the sig and avatar bet we made? If you're having trouble recalling, you said Kobe would average 27 shots or more a game.thedangerouskitchen wrote:Jordan420Bulls wrote:Cobra Kai wrote:Would Rose be willing to accept the role of Robin?

Yep, the Bulls could easily turn Melo into at least a competent defender under the Thibs System.

A healthy Kobe, yeah... the one who was supposed to return around the AS break, not the fool who let his ego convince him to return 2 months before he should have, and as a result injured himself again.
When is he set to return this time, BTW?
