The only game that is $80 is the physical Mario Kart World, successor to the game that sold 75 million copies, something like #3 all-time. And it's $80 because Nintendo wants people to buy the Switch 2 that is bundled with the digital version where you get the game for $50, which is a great deal.

Visuals havent even nearly plateaued. If some video game companies struggled to keep up with the AAA games, that wont be the case going forward now that they have AI tools. Top tier visuals are about to be easy to develop, but impossible on nintendo. Intelligent NPC's will be easy too, but not on nintendo.

Nintendo will sell well for the first couple years, as the next gen AI games are in development, but long term Nintendo will be for toddlers only. It's ga ga goo goo shit

Then when the big exclusives start coming in like 3D Mario, new Smash, new Zelda, sales will explode.

It'll be too late by then. And i believe that's what GTA 6 gameplay will look like. In fact, this is unfinished footage compressed into a low res, low framerate gif. It will look much better.

But it is good that there is a video game company focussed on kid games. It's easy to forget that today's adult gamers were once kids playing kid games. The next generation of kids will need kid games too. This is Nintendo's angle. But for grown men, PC and Playstation clear.

It's actually juvenile to believe that aesthetic and visuals alone determine the quality of the game. Fun, novel and engaging gameplay is what really matters and that is why Nintendo will once again rape and leave the competition for dead in this next generation. They will not be fucking around when the Tears of the Kingdom and Mario Odyssey successors are unleashed. And even though they held back in them in the Direct, Mario Kart World will still sell something like 80 million copies and Donkey Kong will go hard.

And the biggest games like Elden Ring and Hogwarts are available on switch to begin with lol.
