Let's look at today's great perimeter Defense... I can do this all day.
get that weak/soft shit outta here:
And you accuse me of cherry picking. You went and found a video of someone who already did the cherry picking for you and loaded it into one convenient video.
Here's John Stockton against the Shaq-led Lakers getting 3 WIDE OPEN layups, 2 WIDE OPEN 3's, 3 WIDE OPEN jumpers....and a bevy of free throws.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

I can keep finding these videos for days and days, TDK. Defense was shit back then. I don't give a shit how many times you show me a video of some goon like Laimbeer throwing a russian sickle on someone.
Outside of downright dirty, non-basketball plays....the defense was complete shit.
Defense from the late 80's - 00's was VASTLY superior to today's soft/weak crap... and again, don't take my word for it, just ask the Commissioner, the VP of Ops, the best Defensive player today, and many other current players/coaches.
I'd rather trust my eyes. The defense was slow to react, lacking complexity and weak. Way too many open jumpers. Way too much time spent favoring the drive rather than covering the arc.
Teams today would absolutely light up defenses from 30 years ago.
Stupid argument because the game was different back then...
Scoring is higher today (than its been in 50+ years) because Defense is soft and weak... as confirmed by the NBA Commish, the NBA VP of Ops, the best Defense player today, and a plethora of other current players/teams.
But you know better...
"Today's NBA is soft, the Defense is weak, and the rules 'really' favor the Offense."
"Lebron doesn’t guard for a full game and our game plan was to get him to play defense and he left me open all game."
ITT we learned that only rob's random, 2-minute cherry-picked clips are relevant.
I'll take the "experts" analysis of today's Defense (vs. 90's) every day without question over yours, bub... and they all say Defense today is weak and soft. Even your hero LeBron alluded to the same.
You got nothing.
Next...
"Today's NBA is soft, the Defense is weak, and the rules 'really' favor the Offense."
"Lebron doesn’t guard for a full game and our game plan was to get him to play defense and he left me open all game."

I shit in your mouth this entire thread. Keep holding on to your nostalgia, bro. It's probably all you've got...
Yes those random, cherry-picked 2-minute clips definitely hold more water than the expert analysis of the NBA Commissioner, VP of Ops, and boatloads of current players and coaches (including the best Defensive player in the game AND even your hero LeFraud, who compared he Modern Era to an all-star game, with respect to the LACK of Defense played).
You got nothing fool. Walk it off.

lol. Kind of feel sorry for the guy. When your ego is so wrapped up into an era 30 years ago, its beyond pathetic.

You little scrubs cherry pick shit all the time. Like I said, only board I’ve seen as much dog shit posting. That should tell you something. Least amount of posting and it’s that bad here compared to largely populated boards. That would put your shit perspectives on the horseshit column

I could post 100 more just like it. There was nothing cherry picked about it. Literally the first searches I came up with.
Based on your response, I assume you can’t defend the egregiously horrible defense in these videos. Don’t worry, neither could your master, TDK. There’s no defense anyways (that’s a solid double pun right there).

It’s amazing how Jordan averages 37 a game back then in the physical era where the lane was like hammer time. With the pace of todays game and the three point chucking, guys would have to average over 40-45 a game to be in that same comparison as what Jordan did, GOAT
Bush4Ever. wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 9:27 pm
The lane was not "hammer time" in 1987.
Jordan couldn't even generate a .500 record, and got anally raped by Bird (again) in the playoffs (again) in a sweep (again).
He also shot 28 (!) times a game, at a TS+ of 104. SGA this year is a little under 22 and posting a TS+ of 111.
He's also scoring more per-possession than ANY Jordan season.
37 points on 28 shots at a +4 TS, OR
33 points on 22 shots at a +11 TS
Hard choice.
lol yes, hard choice. Don’t bring SGA in a MJ chat ever. That’s about as semi retarded as one can get. I swear geeks and analytics don’t actually know shit about ball, just good at taking formulas and analytics and using it as the gospel. Pathetic. Move on from That weak ass sauce, bush.
Bush, rob, grizz and a few others on the board are either very bad trolls OR absolutely and completely clueless with respect to the game... or a bit of both.
We can all make up our own minds as to which is more valid.
"Today's NBA is soft, the Defense is weak, and the rules 'really' favor the Offense."
"Lebron doesn’t guard for a full game and our game plan was to get him to play defense and he left me open all game."
Astute hoops fans lack at and mock bush-league hoops fans who showcase their lack of credibility by stupidly comparing players like SGA (lol) to the GOAT Michael Jordan.

You know you’ve humiliated boomers like deez and tdk when they don’t even attempt a basketball argument and do false bravado.
boomer ass hoes
Lmao
Best decision of 2025 was putting those two clowns on Ignore. Saving a lot of brain cells.
Meatball grizz put TDK on ignore because he got tired of yours truly slapping the stupid out of him... evidenced by the fact that he still continues to post multiple times in TDK started threads YET runs coward from TDK himself.
We get it grizz... you're a Beta cuck. Always have been.

one fundamental truth that has become objective, undeniable fact is that Steph Curry is the greatest 3 point shooter of all time.
He also has elite handles and finishing ability. He's not only a great 3 point shooter. But he is undeniably, far and away, the best 3 point shooter the sport has ever seen.
