MJ, Kobe, LeBron, Joker... who REALLY had/has the best supporting casts?

Post by thedangerouskitchen »

Since so many on this board value (even worship) Advanced Metrics, I'll throw this one out there for shits-and-giggles... this analysis shows how often the "supporting casts" (of Jordan, Joker, Kobe and James) stepped up and were the best player on the floor for a given Playoff game:

LeBron had a lot of teammates step up in individual games, even though the narrative often suggests otherwise. ((Can you say "over-rated"?))

Jordan had by far the fewest teammates who took over games. ((In a word: GOAT)) 8-)

Pau Gasol may have been more impactful than people give him credit for, given how often he led in game score compared to other "second options. ((Yup... I've been saying for years he was, at a minimum, co-Finals MVP in 2010.)) :pimp:

Jamal Murray has been a much bigger playoff performer than many give him credit for. ((I heard he was a d-league tomato can 'cause he hasn't made the all-star team.))

I gotta go with Jordan having the best supporting cast.

So you would be of the opinion that Advanced Metrics are worthless, because Game Score suggests MJ had the worst supporting cast of the 4 players listed... or is it only the Advanced Metrics favoring Jordan that you feel lack credibility, while all those that favor LeBron, Joker or Kobe are valid?

It’s clear the answer is Jordan

Advanced metrics only work when its the lefaggots in here using them to help lebrons case, if it helps any other player bish and them will have other excuses they pretend to be valid points.

Are you literally stupid enough to believe that adjusted for ERA, MJ's supporting casts don't dwarf anything LeBron, and especially Jokic have had to work with? Think a little for chrissakes. The best SF of the 90s by a country mile, top PFs, a great bench and perfectly matched role players, in an era with very inferior competition. I mean, Jesus Christ Deez.... check your biases at the door.

They're morons... and when you back them into a corner (ie; this thread) they'll either deflect, name-call, or pretend like they were trolling.

:L

Kobe Bryant (1999–2012, excluding 1997–98 when he wasn’t a starter)
200 playoff games played
68 games where a teammate had the highest game score
34% of his games
9 different teammates

LeBron James (career playoffs)
287 playoff games played
48 games where a teammate had the highest game score
16.72% of his games
15 different teammates

Nikola Jokić (career playoffs so far)
80 playoff games played
13 games where a teammate had the highest game score
16.25% of his games
2 different teammates

Michael Jordan (career playoffs)
179 playoff games played
18 games where a teammate had the highest game score
10.05% of his games
4 different teammates

So... only 10% of the time was one of Jordan's "teammates" the best player on the floor in the Playoffs, which means his supporting cast is over-rated by the BWGC / LeTots on this board "or" he is clearly, head-and-shoulders the GOAT because he was the best player on the floor 90% of the time (even with the "alleged" best supporting cast out of all 4 players).

In other words grizz, bush, rob, LNS, underbite, LMD, zombie and others have been thoroughly embarrassed and destroyed ITT... no wonder why they haven't responded.

How nervous are Jordan Jockers these days?

Lebron has passed Jordan, and now Jokic is on the verge of it as well, with Curry as a dark horse to do it with another title.

Tough scene.

Percentage of time a "teammate" was the best player on the floor in the Playoffs:

Kobe: 34%
LeFraud: 17%
Joker: 16%
The GOAT: 10%

So which is it...

A) Jordan is the GOAT because he was the best player on the floor 90% of the time even though he had (supposedly) the greatest supporting cast around him, or B) Jordan is the GOAT because he carried the worst supporting cast to a 6-0 Finals record, or C) Advanced Metrics are worthless?

BWGC... LeTots... inquiring minds want to know.

Lebron passed Jordan in longevity and that’s it. This is LeBron every game cause he doesn’t have moves besides one.

He's scored 42K regular season points and 8K playoff points with one move?

Are you absolutely positive about that?

You seem pretty upset Deez?

You're going on ignore with TDK. I'm done trying to reason with people who have no desire to reason. Enjoy the bliss of your never ending confirmation bias. I'll never change your mind and frankly, at some point hitting my head against the wall is more an indictment of me, than it is you.

He used a bulldozer move on the 2.5K threes he's made in his career?
