Is it too early to chalk up the Magic's season last year as a fluke??

Talk about anything here.

Post by thedangerouskitchen »

Yeah I know it's still early BUT given their track record of futility AND with their only (borderline) star out indefinitely, is it safe to say the 2024-25 Magic are back to the hapless Magic we've known since 2013??

:noidea:

They’ll finish with a better record than the Bulls

Remains to be seen, since the Bulls are currently ahead of them in the standings. But regardless, who cares... read the title/OP again.

What changes have they made that you liked? They lost DeRozan and Caruso, incoming was Giddy. Ball is back but his knees are made of tinfoil, sadly. Currently the Bulls are MAYBE a .500 team if Zach stays healthy and goes apeshit, and that’s definitely not guaranteed. Banchero can miss the rest of 2024 and I’d still bet on the Magic to have a better season.

As noted repeatedly in the past, I haven't watched an NBA game since the 2019-20 season. On that note though, I think an even more intriguing question is, will your LeLakers get out of the first round for just the second time in the last 13 "full" seasons???

Lakers won a title in 2020. Made the WCFs in 2023. Bulls haven’t done shit since the late 90s, dude. They’re a poverty franchise. In fact… you guys long for the “good ol’ Derrick Rose days” and you didn’t do shit back then either :laugh3:

That was an *asterisk*, non-full season... and why are you deflecting so badly ITT? You deflected from the OP, now you're deflecting over whether the Lakers can make it out of the first-round this year.

Says who? You? :laugh3:

You’d have creamed your jeans if the Bulls won that title, old timer. But as it stands now they’re in such a fucked situation… not bad enough for franchise changing draft picks, not good enough to compete. Complete and total NBA purgatory lol

Honestly… no troll you’re better off just staying an uninvolved bandwagon fan. The Bulls prob won’t be competitive till 2030 at the earliest.

Not like I give a rats hairy ass about the NBA but I predicted they would miss the playoffs this year and I'm sticking by it. Magic are a shit franchise that isn't consistent historically and they don't have the personell or front office to maintain being a winner.

TDK's question is legit, but how bad is it that people even care if a 48 win/1st round KO season is legit or a fluke?

lmao at Orlando!
Spoiler:
It was mostly legit, although in need of context in terms of seeding (closely clustered teams+injuries for other teams in the East). I do think they are not going to experience linear growth and will be hard-capped because of a lack of truly elite talent though.
