Marley is iconic because his original classics introduced reggae to the mainstream. He was consumable to whites because Bob himself is white, relative to most reggae artists.

But outside of maybe less than a handful, my long list of reggae playlists feature virtually nothing fron his vast catalog. I prefer Black Uhuru/Michael Rose, Barrington, Eek-a-mouse, Junior Reid, Lee “scratch” Perry, Max Romeo, Augustus Pablo, etc.

Probably my all time favorite live example of reggae’s clutch on the white man’s soul (via Germany). If these horns don’t move you along with Michael’s classic voice then I cannot recognize you.
