From the university that I applied to for the program today:
"Congratulations! We are thrilled to welcome you to the Summer cohort in our Masters of Arts in Teaching Special Education program."
My school is paying for the degree entirely and it will lead to a decent increase in salary once completed.

Just curious… but you’re going from teaching kids who can’t really speak English to teaching retards?
Are you just looking for a challenge? Why not teach regular kids?

Thanks, Havs. I haven't taken summers off since returning to the States (I have done an enrichment program at a different school summers and every other Saturday for years).Havlicekstealsit wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 7:59 pm Congrats man. So much for having your summers off though I guess.
I'm not going to be doing the enrichment program anymore but will still be working summers as the Director of Accelerated Learning Program at my full time school.

For LNS and LMD both using 'retard' to describe kids with some learning/social differences, I get it that maybe you guys found that funny when you typed it.
Some students benefit from an environment that provides additional support from lower number class sizes and socialization with peers similar to them.
