That means Stern officially retires today. Thank god this long nightmare is over.

Yes. How dare he fix the league's drug problem, salary problem, add new franchises, keep Magic's HIV drama grounded, and give the league more global exposure. MJ and the dream team gave the NBA global exposure. He was fortunate to have certain great players during his tenure like Magic and Bird (both who revitalized the NBA) and MJ took it to greater heights.
He had a "rogue" ref (which means Donaghy probably took the fall for other refs dirt) cheating during his tenure, bogus drafts, many questionable games (fixes) which still happens, made questionable decisions like voiding the CP3 trade, etc. etc. etc. A lot of b$ has happened in Stern's tenure.
