2-0 Sweden—can’t help but wonder if it would be 3 or 4 if Zlatan were at the end of some of these chances.

Germany is in deep trouble, but if they can even sneak one goal past Korea, Mexico is out!

Do you find yourself pulling for Mexico?

The cover of Sports Illistrated had a piece on Mexico saying it's "America's other team"

I didn't really get it. I don't pull for them.

Kind of on the fence on this one. A successful World Cup for Mexico along with the US's failure to qualify is probably what it will take to light a fire under the USSF's ass, so in the long run, it could be beneficial for US soccer. But at the end of the day, I just can't do it. 3-0 Sweden now. lol

Whoa.

Germany is out. And Sweden destroyed Mexico. And I missed all of it.

Damn time zones.

[Note: I thought Germany would do better. But I guess a disappointing World Cup isn't crazy for them considering some of the things I read about the dysfunction on the team.]

He kept them in the game with those saves. Korea has now bailed out the Mexico and US in the World Cup 16 years apart.

Germany fails to advance from the group stage for the first time ever. And we still got another set of games later today where Brazil could get sent home if they lose.

France 1998-2002
Italy 2006-2010
Spain 2010-2014
Germany 2014-2018

Other than Brazil, seems like defending champs in recent World Cups completely crash out of group four years later.

Uruguay/Portugal, France/Argentina and Brazil/Mexico on the top half of the bracket? Sounds like the NBA West. Gonna be some tanking and maybe an own goal or two in the Belgium/England game to avoid Brazil in the quarters. Although Colombia in the round of 16 won’t be a team to be taken lightly either.

Is Mexico the Sacramento Kings in that analogy?

They just lost 3 - 0 to Sweden...
