Really a crazy match. McEnroe is not being hyperbolic when he calls Denis the future of the sport. I agree that he will learn from it (top 10 in 24-36 months agreed if not much sooner), it reminds me of an early Zverev match vs. Rafa in which Zverev missed a smash on match point. Lost the match but only got better from there. Surprising that Tsonga held up over five sets.

Meanwhile Dimitrov drops the first set to Mackenzie McDonald who had never won an ATP match before this tournament... long way to go but Rafa's half of the draw is falling apart and if this keeps up Kyrgios would have an easy path to the SF.

I didn't even realize that Tsonga's win robbed us of an epic Kyrgios-Shapovalov match. That would have been electric.

Really looking forward to Halep vs. Genie though @somberbostonian :cena:

Tsonga up 5-2 in the tiebreak looking to force a 5th and gets punched in the dick, loses 5 straight points and the match.

Deciding set doesn't use a tiebreaker. Davis and Halep are knotted up 11-11 in their third set. Davis will be kicking herself. She had Halep down 0-40 in the last game but couldn't get the break to end the match...

Edit: finished 15-13 Halep. Match was 3 hours and 45 minutes...for a women's match.

Federer's half of the draw has collapsed, it now appears that he has an easier path than Rafa. There is 0% chance that Berdych will be able to repeat that performance against Federer, and Novak is having physical issues.

Maybe wishful thinking maybe but Berdych should be a big challenge for Federer. He is playing at the highest level of anyone I've seen play thus far. Cilic won't be a cakewalk either.

Thiem loses to Tennys Sandgren and Djokovic down a set to Chung. Federer could be looking at one of the easiest paths to a final in history by opponents rank.

Why is a thread with only 32 replies through 7 days still stickied?

Can't Grizz and Undies have this discussion in PMs or the mod logs?

Why is Grizz' purple panties in such a bunch?

Seriously, do we have to be a mod to get our pet projects stickied?
