Re: Lebron’s competition vs. MJ’s competition
Jordan definitely did not have "lackluster" help. That's nonsense. Relative to era (90s), his teams were absolutely stacked. That obviously wasn't the case in the 80s. Bulls and Blazers trade draft picks. Bulls also draft a Horace Grant. The Bulls now develop the younger players. Win Cham...

Re: Everyone not named Havs, Bush or Abe
As stated before, none of the Celtic “fans” on this board have any ties to Boston or even the great Boston-Metro area. They became fans because their fathers, who may or may not have had affiliation with a certain 3 letter organization that was prevalent in the backwoods of Indiana and Virginia in ...

Does it matter? Tatum is their most important player, but not by a big margin. They are an extremely balanced team with no real weakness.

How many players on that list failed to win Finals MVP during the year in question? :noidea: Please notice Jordan was not named in this prestigious list. Jordan didn't care about "stats". So how many players led their team in PTS, REB and AST but failed to win Finals MVP? We ...

Wasn't the hardest road, but they were still 16-3. They pretty much dominated the season beginning to end.

Not his finest moment. I felt for him melting down, but you can't do what he did. You just can't. You have to suck it up.

Re: This is how weak the 90's NBA was
Has anyone ever explained why 80s/90s ballers didn't understand how overpowered the 3 point shot was, and why they shouldn't shoot long 2s (the worst shot in basketball)? :noidea: I don’t think advanced metrics for bball was even a thing back then. And when it did finally arrive there was probably ...

Re: Do you think Klay Thompson ends up signing with the Magic?
I think his best days are in the rear view mirror. He's lost a step defensively, and can't get his shot off as easily as he used to. A big contract would likely age very badly and maybe pretty quickly.
I sincerely hope my Magic go in a different direction.

The advanced metrics are pretty easy to understand, and very powerful, if you have an IQ above room temperature. Just saying.

Re: This is how weak the 90's NBA was
LNS: MJ would slice up defenses with more spacing (MJ averaged 37.1 PPG at one point in the 80's) So do you think MJ would average more today or not? 32-35ppg on very elite FG% (55%+/-). Averaging 40+ppg isn’t winning basketball and it’d also break him down physically with the quickness. What are Y...

Re: Do you think Klay Thompson ends up signing with the Magic?
There were reports that he is already looking at houses there, it's a done deal and everyone has known it for a long time. The Magic front office has leaks like an old faucet. Steph curry was looking at houses here and bought one. Means jack shit. And he's definitely not gonna get a big payday from...

Re: This is how weak the 90's NBA was
Remember, kids....5'6" 135 LB Spud Webb was a 16 PPG scorer in the early 90's. But Lebron is gonna have trouble scoring in that era.     I know you’re just dicking around but athletes are athletes. Defenses were given a lot more leeway in terms of physicality back the...

Re: Watch this bull tear this chick up
Amazing how powerful those beasts are. She got flung around in the air like a rag doll. I live in Calgary and we have one of the biggest rodeos on earth early in July every year. I've gone to watch maybe 15 times or so. It escapes me why anyone would ever think it's a good idea to get on the back o...

Re: 2016 is still the last finals that mattered
2016 was a historic finals for reasons already mentioned. But it could have been more so if the end of game 7 wasn't mostly a brick fest. Yes, LeBron's block was iconic and Kyrie made the huge 3, but aside from that, guys were mostly shitting the bed missing shots in the last third of the 4th quarte...
